J. Mathews and the writer. Conditions and operations capable of adversely affecting the health of employees were evaluated. Effectiveness of control provided by ventilation systems was determined. Existing federal, state and corporate regulations were used in the evaluation of the work environ ment. Only those results considered to be excessive or in vio lation of legal requirements are included in this report. The remainder of the results are maintained in our file and are available on request. Summary and Recommendations 1. Airborne Asbestos Dust: The concentrations of airborne asbestos dust at all locations tested were found to be below the established threshold limit value of 5 million particles per cubic foot of air. Thus, a satisfactory condition was indicated in the breathing zone of employees unloading extruders, loading mixers, loading cutter tables, loading brake lining grinders, loading Bipel machines, load ing weigh-up carts, and operating brake lining grinders.
