At your request an investigation of subject custoasrd coeplaint was undertaken.
In an effort to deternina if a trip to the custaaers location was necessary, I contacted Pat Sinclair of the Minneapolis Branch. Be advised that the triple duty In question was rolling under the applicators' knives. This condition could pesslblF be censed by casein contsalnation, so It was felt that a visit was required.
Mr. Bill Johnson, district manager for Glldden Durkee, distributes Joint aystee products to local applicators. It was his custoaer. Leopard Drywall, that was containing. They had been requested to try a few bags of asbestosfree triple duty which were to be Included on their next shipment. On this next shlpeent they received an entire truckload of asbestos-free triple duty. Probleae were experienced by the "hand" applicators whan taping and skinning. The new product didn't seen to have enough body.
The reported rolling effect wee actually the uaterlal running off their hawks and off their knives during an excess wipe. I observed this problen during ny visit.
Triple duty f* else need for a spray-on wall texture. The new asbestos-free gave an naaeftsfeainn/ pattern. When these problens were encountered, the fiinte--r reqeested'that *hla shlpeent be exchanged for the old triple duty originally, ordered it' tkey were advised that there had been a price Increase and that re^lecnaant truckload would be at a higher price. This information irritated the custoaer since ha had received the "wrong" aaterial in the first place.
The TUX received by the Chicago plant requested a truckload of asbestos-free triple duty for subject custoaer. This was observed on ny return through Chicago.

I wuU ittg|iit that tha material la question bo returned to the Minneapolis Branch for resale to utooiH using applicators only. The problems observed during taping and skimning by "hand" are inherent with this formulation as observed in the Detroit marhst.
