Hi, Robert; I'm trying to get the story written this week. It actually will be distributed at the Commodity Classic next winter, but it is written well ahead so it can be reviewed by various farmer-board members and others during the fall. I will try to work on some questions, but really only wanted Mr. Reynolds to address, in general terms, what steps the agency has taken in recent months to help assure good stewardship of the Bt traits; and how important he feels it is for corn growers (farmers) to educate themselves on insect resistance management. If he could respond to those in an e-mail, that would be greatly appreciated. A telephone interview would be valuable, too. So I will leave it up to you and Mr. Reynolds to decide on how we might proceed. Thanks for the quick response on this matter! I hope the story will be helpful to the industry. What's your hard deadline and when are you hoping to publish your story, please? Also and in case we don't find the time for a quick interview, could you forward some questions? Thanks in advance, R. Hello, Mr. Reynolds; I am Dean Houghton, a freelance writer assigned to do a four-page feature story for the NCGA's National Yield Contest booklet. These are typically stories of general interest to the U.S. corn grower. This year I have been assigned the topic of insect resistance management/Bt Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA Tier 13 ED 002061 00025039-00002 trait management. Just checking to see if there would be a chance to visit with you by phone and see if I could get some of your perspective. We always check the story back with sources to make sure it is accurate. If there's a good time to reach you by phone, please let me know (and the best number at which to reach you). I'll be glad to cal! and talk. I've been studying the topic for a few weeks, now trying to sit down this week and put the story together. My contact number is below. Thanks!
