Craeka - 1010 In discussing the control of Askarel spillage with Hr. Bill Courtade, Niagara Transformer* X recommend that the following points be reviewed with him - 1. Practice good housekeeping and industrial hygiene. 2. Maintenance of Askarel handling equipment should not be neglected. 3. Avoid any mixing of Askarel with water. 4. All areas in which Askarels are handled ,, should be paved and curbing be provided. Drainage from these areas should lead to a catch basin large enough to contain any spills.' Drainage from these areas should not be connected to the plant sewer system. 3. All scrap liquid should be collected and disposal should be by high temperature ' incineration. 6. Solid waste contaminated with Askarel should also be destroyed by high tempera ture incineration. Ouldelines for the handling and disposal of Askarels have been proposed by NEMA.
