Frank Guthrie, chairman of the public health fommittcc of the Chamber f Commerce, has . announced. Approxi mately 500 industrial executives and health and hygiene authorities of the Gulf Coast rccion have been invited to attend the con ference. "The theme will be that the betterment of healthful working conditions is of equal bencht to management, labor ami the com munity," Mr. Guthrie said. "Industry has a responsibility for the health of the com munity as well as for its workers and must assume its rightful role in this field." The conference is hoped to be the first of a series of annual conferences designed to encourage and assist industries in estab lishing industrial health programs and inthe strengthening of programs already established. Mr. Guthrie said. Co-sponsors of the conference are the industrial hygiene division of the American Medical Association, tlie Texas Depart ment of Health, the Baylor School of Medi cine and the Chamber of Commerce health committee. Other organizations in Hous ton are assisting in arrangements. Mr. Guthrie, who is vice-president of the City National Bank, is in'charge of organization. Tidwell, assistant executive director of Group Hos pital Service, Inc.; promotion, R. J. Naul, safety manager of Hughes Tool Company; publications, Raymond A. Baarts, director of Community Chest and Council; and ar rangements, R. F. Dowling, vice-president of Huey and Philp Hardware Company. Air Lines Offer $300 Prize .Cash prizes totalling $300 arc offered by Chicago & Southern Air Lines for two winning names, one each for the south bound and northbound flights which C&S will ply the international aerial tradclanes between Houston and New Orleans to Havana, Kingston, Jamaica, and Caracas, Venezuela. C&S' service to the Caribbean and South America begins on July 31, from Houston, with direct flights from the main domestic route connecting with the unnamed South American flight in Havana. The Caracasbound Dixiclincr will leave Houston at 4:30 p. m., on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of each week, stopping at Ha vana and Kingston. Northbound flights depart Caracas each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 10:30 a. nt. No entry blanks are necessary to enter the contest. There is no limit on the num ber of entries each person may submit. Judges of the airline's Caracas Flight Naming Contest at C&S' general offices in Memphis, Tcnn., will announce a winner on or before September 15, with the con test closing on September 1, it was an nounced.
