Inspector 3qylonc visited Wittertoor:: Oor^e on the
13th &rd U' t:. ^'.iVu'^ry. Ha report is at
loS, file 1301/47, tied up
herewith, you will note that he lis requested the Company to enclose
the milling section and inatal exnaust dust collectors^
X personally feel that an instruction is required rather
thon a request, although, as the Inspector remarks, it will be difficult to secure the necessary material.
A further report from Workmen's Inspector Winter at page 144 on U& sag* file states that nothing has been done to improve the
I ventilation and that the venturis ore still not carried into the face. lie proposes to recommend a prosecution if there is not immediate improvement in this matter, and I propose to concur in such recommendation.
At page 141 the Acting Onager reports the appointment of Ur, 7. Powell, a surveyor well and favourably kno*n to we, as Ventilation Officer. It is hoped that this appointment will have the desired effect.
I propose to have this natter followed up and to take whatever steps any be necessary to enforce compliance trith the Regulations.
1st Karen, I?5C
