Gottesman, Ph.D. The Vinyl Institute 155 Route 46 West Wayne, New Jersey 07470 Re: Dear Roy: OSHA Carcinogen Warning Requirements; Response to Occidental Citation Consistent with Bob Luss's report to the Vinyl Institute Executive Board, enclosed is the response filed with the Occupation al Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to a February 19, 1988 citation of Occidental's Addis, Louisiana, facility for failure to place a warning statement on bags of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. A copy of the citation is also enclosed. Our submission to the OSHA Baton Rouge Office draws heavily from the Vinyl Institute's letters to OSHA Headquarters last year. We have been informed that this matter will be referred to the OSHA Region VI Dallas Office for review. Based on a number of telephone inquiries concerning this matter, I would appreciate your distributing this material to the Legal Committee and Health, Safety and Environment Committee.
