This system is economical be cause it requires only about one-half as much plaster as a metal lath hollow partition. Furthermore, it is more quickly erected, and more easily plastered, fewer coats being necessary. SIMPLICITY. The construction consists of ordinary %"-Sharon or hot rolled channel iron-spaced 16" on centers, on affords sound insulation, but also affords an ideal void for pipes, ducts, etc. SAVES TIME, This system is PLASTER AND MONEY, speedily erected on accountofthe fewer channels to place as compared with metal lath construction, and the rap'dity with which the Sackett Boards are clipped and plastered. Only two coats of plaster are required, the each S1de of which are placed solid sheets of ?6"-Sackett Plaster Board, 32" long and 18" high, securely fastened by Jester Steel Clips. The partition can be erected by any good mechanic, no special tools being required. LIGHTNESS. This partition is exceptionally light, gypsum plaster board being the lightest known material used for construction of incombustible partitions. SOUND RESISTING Sackett Plaster Board QUALITIES. is composed of alter nate layers of Gyp sum and felt. When covered with gypsum plaster the partition is superior to a metal lath partition in sound resisting qualities. The air space between the plaster boards not only plasterers following up with the finish coat as soon as the base coat is set. Sackett Plaster Board requires only one-half as much plaster as metal lath. NO LATH OR Sackett Plaster Board is RUST STAINS, non - staining. No metal comes in contact with the wet plaster except the rust-proof clips. INCOMBUSTIBLE AND Exhaustive tests FIRE RESISTING. have proved that gypsum is a most effective barrier to fire. The gypsum plaster and plaster board will not bum. Where grounds are required on opposite sides of partitions, they may be attached by wiring them together. Wood door bucks should be of same width as finished thickness of partition. These details are similar to those used with metal lath. For attaching Sackett Board to door bucks, use regular Jester Clips set vertically in the double partition. Specifications for Jester-Sackett Hollow Partitions JESTER-SACKETT 254" Partitions are to be con structed with 54" channels, spaced 16" on centers, and fastened to floors and ceilings the same as in metal lath partitions. On each side of the channels place SACKETT Plaster Board, 18" x 32" in size and 54" thick, and clip to each channel with Jester 54" clips, breaking all per pendicular joints between floor and ceiling. Partition requires W of Gypsum Plaster on a side. Finished partition to be 254" thick. (Indicate if thicker partition is required.) CARPENTER CONTRACTOR is to place grounds for plastering, picture mould, base and chair rail where required, and is to set all bucks. Bucks are to be made from 2" pine, of width of finished wall, and properly braced and set. SACKETT Plaster Board must not be wet before applying plaster. Plaster out to grounds, making all angles and comers flush and straight, ready to receive trim. SPECIFICATIONS FOR JESTER-SACKETT SUSPENDED CEILINGS All ceilings where indicated to be suspended, shall be formed of SACKETT Plaster Board with the Jester Ceiling Clips. Boards to be ' s' SACKETT, 18' x 32' in size, attached by means of Jester Clips to J4' standard or Sharon channels spaced 16' on centers. These channels to be attached by means of No. 16 tie wire to 1 channels spaced 4 feet apart, which latter are to be suspended from the construction above by 1 x s' flat iron straps, or Ji" round rods or two No. 14 galvanized wires, not to exceed 4 feet on centers, bent around them and wired securely. Hangers are to be provided by this contractor, but will be set in concrete by the mason contractor. SPECIFICATIONS FOR PLASTERING PLASTER:--To be United States Gypsum Co.'s Gypsum Wood Fibre, Cement or Prepared Plaster, mixed and applied according to manufacturer's directions. SACKETT Plaster Board must not be wet before applying plaster. Apply scratch coat and allow to dry. Second coat to be brought out to grounds to receive finish coat. Make all angles and corners flush and straight. FINISH:--To be United States Gypsum Co.'s Prepared Trowel Finish or Sand Float Finish, mixed and applied according to manufacturer's directions.
