Mr. Weber rafarrad your raquast for polychlorinated biphanyi acuta toxicity data to me. Representative data ara contained in RBQISTRY OF TOXIC 3TTBCTS OF CHEMICAL SUB8TAHCKS, (U8 HEW,, NIOSH, JUna 1975). Tha following single dose oral LD5q values for rats ware reported!
ARDCLOR^ 1242
AROCLOR 1254 AR0CLOR 1260

1.3 gAg 1.3 gAg
Among tha many other values for various materials warai
Salt (KaCL)
Aspirin

The polychlorinatad biphenyls are classified as only slightly toxic whan administered in single oral doses. It must, how ever. be stressed that tha acuta toxicity following single doses is not a widely extrapoletable indication of tha affects of these materials. The major toxic effects will be observed only after prolonged or repeated exposures. These subacute toxic effects occur as a result of the accumulation of poly chlorinated biphenyl when exposures exceed the rate of meta bolism and excretion. The current guide lines for work place exposure and the Food and Drug Administration guide lines on permissible polychlorinated-biphenyl content of food items are considered to be low enough to prevent tissue accumulation and
