Jackson, Ryan[jackson.ryan@epa.gov] Caitlin Davis Sat 10/28/2017 12:49:11 AM Preserve the Clean Power Plan
Mr. Jackson, I would like to strongly voice my disapproval of the EPA's decision to withdraw the Clean Power Plan. I am unsure if the decision to withdraw the CPP is based in pure ignorance, greed, or combination of both. Given Scott Pruitt's history of suing the organization which he now runs, I am not inclined to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. Please take a few brief moments to think about the actual goals of the governmental organization by which you are actually employed. Do you serve the coal companies? Do you serve corporate interests? Do you serve a partisan agenda? Or do you serve the American people who deserve access to clean air and clean water?
By giving up on the Clean Power Plan, which has not even gone into effect yet, the EPA has made its priorities clear to the American people. Why do you refuse to give it a chance? Why is the EPA against lowering CO2 emissions? Why do you want Americans to live with higher rates of asthma and mortality? I want to be clear about this. The decision of the EPA to withdraw the CPP will cause people to die. If you have a better plan in place than the CPP to reduce carbon emissions, please feel free to reveal it at any time you so chose. Until then, I ask you to reflect on the importance of preserving and protecting our Earth. I am sure that as an employee of the EPA, the planet is something you care about. If we do not take collective action which transcends partisan lines, our Earth may be gone sooner than we think.
Best wishes, Caitlin Davis
