Proposed Work and Cost
Funds of --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------$2024 are requested to purchase and install a rotary airlock feeder on the plant's 25 H.P. vacuum system.
Present Situation
The 25 H.P. Hoffman vacuum system, installed in-1977, is equipped with a manual discharge valve which creates an extremely dusty condition in Building 20 and the laboratory when the product re ceiver is discharged daily.
Justification
Installation of this rotary airlock valve will allow for a slow, controlled discharge of the,contents of the vaccuum product receiver This in turn will eliminate a major source of lead dust emmission into the Building 20 work room and laboratory. This will also help to maintain low blood leads, be beneficial in boosting morale, and will prevent additional problems with OSHA and Cyanamid Industrial Hygiene Department.

This will be completely approximately six, (6) weeks after approval. Production Factors This proposal will not alter product quality or production rate. Contingent Future Commitments This proposal will not require, additional funds to complete. Alternatives Considered No additional alternatives were considered. Risks No operating risks are involved. Concise Summary Installation of an enclosed automatic valve will eliminate a serious industrial hygiene problem.
