The average scere after two hours was 0.3, consisting of very slight erythema cn one anlsal. All rabbits showed barely perceptiblo redness in twenty-four hours at which time the remaining compound was wiped off the skin. Two rabbits were found te be free of irritation within farty-eight hours.

DISCUSSION -
The dogrev of irritation was quite similar for both Hydraulic Fluid CS-61 ar.d Hydraulic Fluid 0S-83. Mild discomfort developed immediately upon application of Hydraulic Fluid OS-83. After en# hour tfao average scere was 10.0 cut of a possible 110.0. Modorato erythema of the palpebral conjunctivas, considerable lacrimation, and did edema doveloped. The iris reaained clear end the cornea showed little change* All animals still showed slight rednoss after soventy-two hours bat all were froe of inflammation by tho fifth day.
HydranUe Fluid 03-83 was classed as a mild eyo irritant.

Vo deaths teeorred during the six hours exposure aar during the subsequent tv weels observation. period. Breathing and activity in general did not change materially leading to the belief that the vapors did not cause serious discomfort, fucous membrane ef the usee and throat shewed only elight inflammation after exposure. Salivation was not excessive.
The fluid was agitated quite briskly at tan pounds pressor per square inch. However, little or so haso developed in the chamber ataosphare. It was possible that saturation was reached although it was apparent that tne compound does sot readily vaporise.

The animals survived the exposure without incident. The behavior pattern was very eiailar to Hydraulic Fluid OS-Al. So excessive lacrioation or salivation was neted. Aetivi^ was not aaterially reduced. Inflnmaatisn of the noee and throat was very* aUd to aild.
Air pressure of ten to twelve pounds per square inch agitated the fluid vigorously but apparently drsplsta were not carried over into the chamber. The fur of the anisale remained dry. As with Hydraulic Fluid CS-B1 very little vapor base aceumXated in, the chamber.
The vapors af both lydrsulic Fluids vers considered to be only mildly irritating to rats.
