McVay *JECT: IMPERIAL QT TEXTURE FINISH June 7, 1973 As of April 1, the Government Environmental Agency Issued a new regulation banning use of asbestos in spray acoustical and insulation materials. Although,it doesn't specifically mention decorative materials such as Imperial QT, It is our Legal Department's opinion that such materials will be Included in the very near future. Consequently, it is necessary that we re-evaluate our QT Textures in this light immediately. Research has set a schedule to move on the program and it will require cooperation and some sample batch production by the plants . .fortest evaluation, etc. Your plant has always been cooperative in such matters, however, we thought you should be advised that Research will be * requesting action on the part of your people and reasons why we feel it so urgent.^.;. , Research will be contacting you soon outlining their program.
