1.0 Objective: 1.1 To perform this task in a safe and efficient manner without damage to equipment or injury to personnel.
2.0 Responsibility: 2.1 It is the responsibility of the operations supervisor and senior operation specialist to ensure that this procedure is fully complied with.
2.2 It is the responsibility of the senior operations specialist and operations specialist to ensure that this procedure is executed in a safe and efficient manner.
3.0 Safety Notations: 3.1 Block safety equipment, gloves and hearing protection is required while doing this job.
3.2 The compressor must be isolated with red tags and all pressure bled off before starting on this job.
3.3 The compressor must also be racked out. This is a two man job and a Nomex flash suit must be worn when racking out a 2300 volt switch gear such as the air compressor.
4.0 Special Notation: 4.1 Special care should be taken to prevent oil spillage to the compressor dike drain. It is recommended that oil pads be spread about generously.
4.2 Make sure all bleeds are closed before starting C-550 A/B.
4.3 Separator element should be replaced when its differential pressure reaches 10 psig. A new separator should have a pressure drop of 3 to 4 psig. Make sure filter element is put in GEMTS for replacement.

5.0 Procedure: 5.1 When compressor is red tagged and bled down properly, proceed to remove the (5) five stainless steel 1/4" tubing's and 3/4" bolts from the sump tank cover.
5.2 Remove the flexible pipe coupling and brace holding adjacent piping to flex coupling.
5.3 Lift the cover from the sump tank being very careful not to damage the return oil dip leg that is attached.
