Chamber of Commerce OF THE U n it e d States of A m erica N e il L. Bradley E xecu tive V ice P r esid en t & Chief P olicy O fficer April 3, 2018 1615 H STREET, NW Wa s h in g t o n , DC 20062 (202) 463-5310 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports the nomination of Andrew Wheeler to be Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Mr. Wheeler's experience in public service makes him an excellent choice for leadership at the EPA. He began his career at the EPA, where he worked on toxic chemical, pollution prevention, and right-to-know issues. He was awarded the EPA Bronze Medal twice. Mr. Wheeler has also served on Capitol Hill in various roles and offices, including as Majority Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. In those roles, he worked on every major piece of environmental and energy-related legislation before Congress for more than a decade. Nominated in October 2017, his confirmation would provide EPA with the leadership and experience needed as the agency implements its Back to Basics agenda, which is focused on protecting the environment, sensible regulations that facilitate economic growth, and enhanced engagement with state and local partners. The Chamber urges all senators to support swift confirmation of Andrew Wheeler to be the Deputy Administrator of EPA. Sincerely, Neil L. Bradley Sierra Club v.
