The immediate relationship of present articles to industrial hygiene may not be apparent at once. However, I am preparing several further articles which with these will summarize the principal findings in our experimental work on lead over a period of a number of years* The present ones form the basis for comparison with the findings in a number of lead trades* They are, therefore, essential as a base line. . X recognize that the. length of this group of articles and the number of tables involve difficulty in publication, particularly in these somewhat restricted times* However, I should not feel justified in publishing them at all without the data which will permit of their critical examination. Moreover, I wish to publish the entire series In the same journal if it is at all possible. I can hardly expect them all to appear in the same issue, though that would be an advantage. If they are unsatisfactory for the Journal of Industrial Hygiene in their present form, or If they can not all be 'used, 1 would appreciate your returning all of them to me for seme other disposition. It occurs to me further that you and your associates may feel that it is imperative that the analytical methods be described in detail in association with these articles. I hay omitted these purely in the Interest of brevity, and for the further reason that the methods have been described adequately elsewhere.
