Purpose of the Meeting: Annual meeting of Aluminum Association membership
Background on the Meeting: The Aluminum Association represents U.S. and foreign-based companies and their suppliers throughout the value chain, from primary production to value added products to recycling. The Association is the industry's leading voice, providing global standards, business intelligence, sustainability research and industry expertise to member companies, policymakers and the general public. The aluminum industry helps manufacturers produce sustainable and innovative products, including more fuel efficient vehicles, recyclable packaging, greener buildings and modern electronics. In the U.S., the aluminum industry creates $186 billion in economic activity.
The association hosts two annual membership meetings, one in the spring and one in the fall. The meetings provide an opportunity to conduct association business, network as an industry, hold breakout committee meetings, share information and best practices and hear from prominent speakers.
Role of the Administrator: We would welcome a speaking role from the administrator during one of our general session meetings. Given prevailing industry trends, the group has a particular interest in the midterm review of vehicle fuel economy as well as regulatory reform issues, so would be especially interested in an update on those topics.
