ABD00280561 SEMIANNUAL REPORT SEPTEMBER 1, 1979 THRU FEBRUARY 29, 1980 CONOCO CHEMICALS COMPANY PVC PLANT ABERDEEN, MISSISSIPPI 61.70 (c) (1) No emissions from the control device (incinerator) exceeded 10 ppm vinyl chloride averaged over any hour period (commencing on the hour) during this reporting period. Emission requirements of 61.64 (a) (2), (b), (c), (d) and 61.65 (b) (1) (ii), (b) (5), (b) (6) (ii) , (b) (9) (ii) are met by collecting, containing, and incinerating vents from these areas prior to their release to the atmosphere. The exhaust gas from the incinerator is measured continuously with a Honeywell multi point gas chromotograph. The exhaust gas from the incinerator is also sampled periodically (grab sample) and analyzed for vinyl chloride using Test Method 106. Results from these samples are given in Table I. 61.70 (c) (2) (i) The emission level prescribed in 61.64 (e) is attained by a stripping operation. The plant produces only one type of resin, that by the suspension process.
