220719 fluoropolymers alternatives confidential.pdf
Dear all, As promised, attached you will find a report in which we discuss potential alternative materials to fluoropolymers and possible trade-offs that could be expected from substitution. Please note that we intend to continue to build on additional cases and therefore updated versions of the report may be released in the future. As previously, we consider this information (which has been built mainly with input from pro-K members, but not only) as confidential for now, although we expect that this will be made available during the public consultation. We are at your disposal if you would like to comment or discuss the content of this report in detail. Saludos cordiales / With best regards / Mit freundlichen Grdflen 5 1 2e

Subject: A comparison of fluoropolymers and other polymeric PFAS
MIZE@chemservice-group.com>
Importance:
uearaimaear all,
I would like to again thank you for the time you took on 6 July to participate at the session arranged by Pro-K on fluoropolymers.
In the context of the collaboration between Chemservice and Pro-K, attached you will find a report in which we perform a
comparison between fluoropolymers and other polymeric PFAS. In this report, we try to highlight the differences between these
products. Indeed, fluoropolymers are not only different from other short-chain (or long-chain, non polymeric) PFAS; also between
the polymeric materials that fall into the PFAS group of substances there are significant differences in terms of properties and
expected human health or environmental concerns. The scope of the report is to help to avoid confusion between these polymers.
While we expect to release this information when relevant in the restriction process (e.g. Public Consultation), for the moment we
prefer to regard this information as confidential, so we would appreciate if you could keep this for internal use only.
During this week we also expect to share a report describing specific applications of fluoropolymers with a focus on potential
alternatives and on the consequences that could be expected from substitution of fluoropolymers with other currently available
materials.
We hope you will find this information of interest and of course we would be happy to discuss further on the content of the
attached report, if you should consider this appropriate.
Saludos cordiales / With best reaards / Mit freundlichen Griii3en
