Handling should be done only with adequate ventilation and care taken to avoid inhalation of vapors and repeated or prolonged contact with the skin. All contact with the eyes should be avoided. STORAGE AND TRANSFER VISTA NPSO and HPSO are classed as flammable liquids by DOT and OSHA. VISTA MR and LPA are classed as combustible liquids. Transportation, storage, and handling must be done in accordance with specific DOT and OSHA regulations governing these materials. Storage in carbon steel tanks is suitable. Conventional lines, pumps, hoses, and fittings are satisfactory for use. Normal precautions against corrosion of equipment from water leaks or condensation should be taken. VVV 000015734 Vista Chemical Company Vista Petroleum Solvents Description/Applications: NPSO Vista NPSO solvent is a high-purity solvent naphtha with a typical boiling range of 200-350 F and an aromatics level of ten percent. NPSO solvent is suggested for use as a vehicle for inks and coatings and in general applications for solvent naphthas. NPSO should pass California's Rule 66, which prohibits the discharge of photochemically reactive solvents. NPSO is also suitable as a feedstock for BTX units, naphtha steam crackers, and reformers. HPSO Vista HPSO solvent is a severely-hydrogenated solvent naphtha. It has extremely low levels of aromatics, sulfur, and nitrogen and a boiling range similar to Vista NPSO solvent. HPSO is suitable for ink and coating applications or where a low-aromatic naphtha is required. HPSO complies with California's Rule 66. Its high purity also suggests H PSO for use as a process solvent or product carrier where high purity and low odor are critical. MR Vista MR solvent is a high-purity hydrocarbon in the kerosene boiling range. It is colorless and has a mild odor, low viscosity, and a typical aromatics level of 15 percent. Vista MR solvent has extremely low sulfur and nitrogen contents. Vista MR solvent is suitable for use as a coatings vehicle, No. 1-K low-sulfur kerosene for heaters and lamps, drilling fluid base oil, and in other applications requiring a highly-refined kerosene. MR solvent is expected to comply with California's Rule 66 limiting the use of photochemically reactive solvents. LPA Vista LPA sol vent is a very high-purity aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent in the kerosene boiling range. It is a colorless liquid with a mild odor, low viscosity, and extremely low aromatics, sulfur, and nitrogen contents. LPA solvent is suitable for use in the applications listed above and also as a component in household products, agricultural chemicals, or as a chemical process solvent. LPA solvent qualifies for safe use under California's Rule 66 prohibiting the use of photochemically reactive solvents. LPA also qualifies for use in a wide variety of Food-related applications where a low level of polynuclear aromatics is essential.
