Transfer Of N-Butanol From DV-3 To DV-103 1.0 Objective: 1.1 To maintain raw material level in DV-103 (in block feed tank) through means of a periodic transfer from DV-3 (tank farm storage tank) in a safe and efficient manner 2.0 Responsibility: 2.1 It is the responsibility of the operations supervisor and the senior operations specialist to ensure that this procedure is fully complied with. 2.2 It is the responsibility of the senior operations specialist and the operations specialist to adhere to this procedure at all times. 3.0 Special notations: 3.1 N-butanol must be transferred from DV-3 when the level in DV-103 reaches 60%. 4.0 Safety notations: 4.1 Take a radio with you to block five. Always test the radio before leaving the block site (block 55). 4.2 A chlorine respirator is required when working at block 5 (storage tank farm). 4.3 The safety shower at block five needs to be flushed when you first arrive at DV-3 before any work is done. The supply water line to the shower is dead headed and the water may get very hot and or rusty. A five minute flush should be sufficient, or until the water clears up. 5.0 Procedure: 5.1 The fill valve at DV-103 should stay open to prevent the line from pressuring up. The suction and discharge valves should also be open. 5.2 Take a radio and proceed to block five.
