Pulling P-212's 1.0 Objective: 1.1 To complete maintenance of these pumps in a safe and efficient manner without damage to equipment or injury to personnel. 2.0 Responsibility: 2.1 It is the responsibility of the operations supervisor and the senior operations specialist to ensure that this procedure is fully complied with. 2.2 It is the responsibility of the operations specialist to execute this procedure in a safe and efficient manner. 3.0 Safety Notations: 3.1 Monogoggles, gloves, hearing protection are required to perform this task. 3.2 Breathing air must also be worn when pulling this pump. 4.0 Special Notations: 4.1 Personal safety coordinator (psc) is required and gas meter should be thoroughly checked out before job.He/she should escort fork lift into position to pull pump and stay with his gas meter. Psc should never leave his meter to help pull pump or for any other reason while fork lift is being used. 4.2 Be very careful when lowering boom in between piping and when pulling pump out. 5.0 Procedure: 5.1 Isolate and red tag pump. 5.2 Drain suction to sump and flush bowl with condensate for at least two hours. 5.3 Check field switch to make sure breaker is open before pulling pump. Remove coupling and wiring (acceleration and vibration probes), tubing connections, etc. From pump. 5.6 Disconnect pump from casing, connect choker to pump using specially prepared eye bolts. 5.7 Escort forklift and pump to the shop making sure it is properly secured to avoid swinging. 5.8 These same precautions should be exercised when putting the pump back in the hole. 5.9 Flush TEG pot with condensate before adding TEG. 5.10 Change out oil filter.
