|... we focused on the courts, reporting that appellate judges have rejected environmentalists' request to quickly vacate EPA's implementation delay of its methane rule for new and existing landfills, suggesting it might dismiss the challenge entirely because the agency's delay expired last month.
Also in litigation, a coalition of 11 states led by California is supporting a bid by environmentalists and two chemical makers for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to reverse a split panel ruling vacating EPA's rule to reduce hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants that act as potent greenhouse gases.
We previewed a speech by former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, who is slated to discuss the "present and future" of EPA at Columbia University, a speech in which she could defend Obama administration environmental steps while criticizing Trump officials' efforts to roll back climate and other rules.
