Riddle J. G. Trafton D. R. wise G. L. Wofford A. M. Patterson This was the August meeting, which was rescheduled from August 18 due to Hurricane Alicia. At this meeting the chairmanship of the committee passed from J. H. Cross to R. L. Whitehead, who should receive SHAC minutes and other communications to the TCSC. P. D. Johnson rotated off the committee after two years of willing and able service. S. D. Davenport submitted her resignation because she is transferring. Safety & Housekeeping Inspections The Annual Safety and Housekeeping Inspection will be October 24-27. The laboratory buildings, which the TCSC is responsible for, will be inspected on Wednesday, October 26. The Committee decided to make a 5-minute presentation to the inspectors before they tour the labs. In addition to pointing out our good safety record, the presentation will describe the nature of the work done in the labs, because it differs significantly from that done in the production units. The time for the Tech Center Semi-Annual Safety Inspection was discussed. It will be between September 26 and October 7. Lab Audits Still only one unit lab has requested an audit. R. M. Fritz will check on getting others to reply. We hope to conduct the audits before the annual inspection. Failure of Plastic Acetone Containers The draft of a TCSC Alert has been submitted to LPSS for their comments.
