R. Lombard, samples were collected on February 7, 1972. to determine asbestos dust concentra tions created by vacuum cleaning brake shoe grinding and packaging operations performed in the Friction Materials Building. Laboratory results reported as fiber counts are listed on the attached data sheet. Discussion The threshold limit value for asbestos dust was established at 5.0 fibers per milliliter greater than 5 microns in length. As indicated on the data sheet, airborne asbestos dust con centrations ranged from 0.8 to 1.8 fibers per milliliter of air. Thus, a satisfactory condition was indicated.
