RAP assessed 3 soil auger samples and 44 GPS photographs (Photos 44-88). Area of Interest 2 was assessed from the road. Two tile drain outfalls were photographed within the Areas of Interest. Closing Conference Documents Received and / or Requested During the Inspection NA Compliance Assistance Provided (If any) I informed Hans Vorsteveld that a federal permit is required under Section 404 for activities which discharge dredged, or fill material into wetlands and other waters of the United States. The Corps and EPA share enforcement responsibilities under CWA 404, while the Corps is responsible for permitting activities. The Corps should be consulted before doing any work in wetlands and or waterways. Observations Relayed to Site Owner / Operator I told Hans Vorsteveld that based on our preliminary observations, EPA would be following up with and information request letter and would potentially schedule additional field work.
