We agree there is a possibility that some researchers may not know the difference between DDT and PCB. However, Professor Gunnar Wldmark and Soren Jensen have reported techniques that do differentiate between the two. Regarding the use of PCB in tires, the statement we sent you indicates that "To our knowledge, PCB is not used in tires, house paint, household products, epoxy resins or major vinyl plastics, as has been charged." PCB is used in certain types of marine paints. The water leachablllty of these paints Is so low, however, that It seems Incredible to us that this would explain the source of PCB in the amounts that have allegedly appeared in water.
