Dear Mr.Brown
I am returning Dr. Gardner's report which you sent me with your letter of January 8th. I think this is quite an outstanding piece of work and it seems it would be worth a great deal if these conclusions on page four can definitely be nailed down without any fear of contradic tion. It does away with any question of asbestos pro ducing toxic effects and tends to simplify not only the control in the manufacturing process but protection of the individual and definitely takes asbestos out of the free silica class as an industrial hazard. For that reason, I think that it would well be worth while to have Dr. Gardner pursue this experimental work to its conclusion.
With best regards, I am
Sincerely yours
/s/ A. J. Lanza

Dear Mr. Simpson:
Supplementing Dr. Gardner's latest report on his experiments with asbestos dust, I am enclosing herewith copy of a letter containing the comments of Dr. A. J. Lanza on the results thus far attained.
You will note that in his opinion it would be well worth while to have Dr. Gardner pursue his experimental work to its conclusion.
