International and the asbestos lap that you purchased from them. Unfortunately, we are in a shutdown period, but I took the opportunity to call Raybestos Manhattan and talked with Mr. M. Scowcroft who is the General Sales Manager. Whether or not he has responsibility for foreign sales, I do not know. Ke has assured me that he will immediately contact Mr. Russell R. Lang and if necessary, call on sane of their mechanical experts. For your information we had sane considerable trouble with R.M. *s asbestos lap sane time last year, preceding your trouble by some months. It was necessary at that time, for us to get help from Raybestos Manhattan personnel and from what little information I can glean from the very few employees that are working here at this time, we had to make some adjustment in the card spacing to overcome our problems. I expect that most of our people will be back at work on August 10, and will immediately try to determine what adjustments we made in our machines and will pass that information on to you, on the assumption that your problem may generate from the same change in material that occasioned ours. Any information that I can put together that might be helpful, we will transmit to you immediately. Meanwhile, Mr. Scowcroft has promised to give me a copy of any information he sends you so that I can follow up on your request from this end. If there is no reply from him shortly, I will contact RM* again for information. You can rest assured we will do all we can to help you with this problem and you should be hearing from me again within approximately one week.
