Mr. E. L. Shea J. E. Boudreau Rifkin Study of Exhaust Products of Leaded Fuels
E. K. Scales
C. L. Smith
New York New York August 2, 1955
With reference to the Rifkin study of exhaust products of leaded fuels, there was a general agreement on the part of Dr. Kehoe, Mac Murdock, Dick Scales and myself that the paper should be published in the American Journal of Hygiene. It was also agreed that the approach to this journal should be made through Dr. Kehoe for obvious reasons. The report itself will not be ready before the first of October Inasmuch as the Detroit laboratories have additional data to develop.
In Dick Scales* memorandum to you, he suggested that Dr. Kehoe consider publishing in the same journal a companion paper giving the results of surveys of lead concen tration in the atmosphere. The decision on this will have to wait until Dr. Kehoe*s return September 1st. He is now on vacation and cannot be reached. I do not believe, however, that the publication of the Rifkin study should be held up pending action on Dr. Kehoe*s(paper.
