The data Indicates the monthly average exceeded one pp:. for three of the four months. If it Is assumed the hourly average also represents the 15 minute average, the data shows an individual would be exposed to over 5 ppm VCM between 1.9 and 5.7 percent of the time. Since the pumper-loaders spend less-than ten minutes within the regulated area taking a large sphere sample. It may be possible to deregulate this area even though this area has a high percentage of hourly averages over 1 ppm. Twenty-two personnel dosimeter testings were conducted for the pumper loaders during these four months, only one exceeded one ppm VCM. This strongly supports the conclusion that the pumper-loaders spend very little time in the regulated area. Based on the low personnel exposure record and the low percentage of exposure over 5 ppm VCM, it is recommended that Regulated Area #4 be deregulated. DTH 000015912
