Ryan--
Hope you are doing well.
I represent Covestro, which is a major manufacturer of adhesives, coatings and other unique chemicals with U.S. headquarters in Pittsburgh and major operations in Texas, Ohio, and West Virginia. Covestro's products are used in many industries, including the automotive, electronics, and construction industries.
Covestro is appreciative of the steps being taken at EPA to reduce the backlog of applications in the New Chemicals Review Program under TSCA. Two prominent Covestro officials -- Christine Bryant (Senior Vice President for Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties) and Bob Skogland (Director of Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs) - will be in Washington on August 1st and 2nd. I was hoping to get your advice and assistance on setting up a meeting at EPA with appropriate officials involved in the "section 5(e)" review process. Covestro would like to discuss how the implementation of TSCA by the previous Administration has adversely affected them, and serve as a resource for EPA on any information they can provide moving forward. (As an aside, you may be interested to know that Covestro's President, Jerry MacCleary, currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board at the American Chemistry Council, where the 5(e) process reforms are receiving considerable attention.)
Your thoughts on setting up a meeting with the right folks would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Tim
