July 3, 1972 Plant Industrial Relations Managers Subject: OSHA Target Health Hazards Reference: May 4, 1972 Communication, Same Subject and Distribution In the captioned communication I identified and outlined some of the hazards associated with AsbeBtoes, Carbon Monoxide, Cotton Dust, Lead, and Silica. It was recommended that you conduct a survey of your operations to determine those that may be involved with use of one of the five target materials. It was further recommended that periodic surveys of the work environment be conducted to assure that adequate controls are present to assure compliance with established Threshold Limit Values. This office is aware of the status of the asbestoes program at the Sheldon Road Plant.
