OPERATING PROCEEDURES 1. Personnel will wear the following safety equipment: a. Approved eye protection b. Face shield c. Long sleeve shirt d. Gloves . 2. Charge asphalt into the Pot above the heating coils. 3. Ignite the burner using a suitable torch. 4. Regulate gas firing rate. LOW FIRING RATE ONLY. 5. Pour Mastic between 210 - 350 F. 6. DO NOT ALLOW TEMPERATURE TO EXCEED 350 F. MAINTENANCE (MONTHLY) 1. Authorized Tank House personnel will inspect the Mastic Pot. 2. The Pot, valve and faucet will be cleaned. Robert C. Harlofr Asst.
