Box 9217 Corpus Christi, TX 78469 Dear Ms. Pope: The following is our recommendation for removal of non-friable mastic found on Tank #109 in Terminal #3. As long as the mastic is and remains non-friable, we recommend open air wet removal within a clearly marked regulated area be performed and that the mastic be double-bagged in asbestos labeled bags. We recommend that the abatement personnel wear Tyvek protective clothing, minimum of a half-face respirator, and that 25% of the abatement crew be monitored. We also recommend that area monitors be placed around the perimeter, upwind, downwind, and within the regulated area. This recommendation related to asbestos issues only.
