DIRECTIONS FOR SABINITE FLOAT FINISH (F) MIXING SABINITE Float Finish is a prepared acoustical plaster requiring the addi tion of clean water only. Machine mixing is preferred. Machine Mixing; Mix not over 28 quarts of water per 80 pound bag. Add SABINITE to water and mix 3 to U minutes until light and fluffy. Hand Mixing; Mix not over 30 quarts of water per 80 pound bag. Add SABINITE to water and hoe until plaster is uniformly wet. Allow to soak a few minutes, then mix to proper consistency, A two-bag mix will re quire about eight minutes for proper mixing. Mix thoroughly until the SABINITE is light and flufiy. Thorough mixing is necessary to develop plasticity and acoustical, properties. Do not retemper or mix one batch with another. Keep all tools and equip ment clean. Mix no more than can be used in one hour. APPLICATION SABINITE Float Finish shall be applied in two coats to a uniform total thickness of 1/2 inch. First Coat: Apply l/k inch over a uniformly dry gypsum plaster basecoat that is level and thoroughly broomed or crossraked. Broom surface of first coat lightly after the water sheen has left the surface, but before it has set. Keep broom clean. Allow first coat to set and dry before applying finish. Finish Coat: After first coat is set and dry apply finish coat l/U inch thick, bringing total thickness to 1/2 inch. Areas must be finished in one operation to avoid joinings. After water sheen has left the surface, finish with a cork or shingle float. Use no water in floating. CAUTION Protect the plaster from moisture while in storage and on the job* Allow SABINITE to dry naturally, furnishing proper heat and ventilation in slow drying weather. SA-18
