Subject: ACTION ITEMS FROM APFO DISPERSION MODELLING
'
In our Nelm eeting today on the dispersion m odeling, several cases were run based on the forecasted A P F O consumption fo r year 2 0 0 3 at W W . T he modelling results indicate that w e need to do the followings in order to m eet th e C E G requirement.
1. The APFO rem oval efficiency for the Fine Pow der dryer air scrubbing system has to be at least 85% . (Being addressed by W 2 project) 2. T he APFO rem oval efficiency for all dryer vents from FEP and P F A areas has to be at least 93% . (Being pursued by 6 -S ig m a /W 7 project) 3. T he vent stacks o f all the A P F O scrubbing system s need to be increased by 2 0 -3 0 ft.
The modelling results of concentration contour are significantly affected by the increasing slack height. W e need to start the work on evaluating options and cost for stack height increase as soon as possible in order to m eet the timing fo r implementation during the April shutdown in 2 0 0 2 . T h e stack height for the scrubbing system in the Fine Powder area can be added to the-current W 2 project. T h e stack height for FE P and PFA areas need to be worked on separately.
I would like to have your concurrence and guidance on the proposed action items below:
1. Increase the stack height in the on-going W 2 project by 2 0 -3 0 ft. (Include this in th e current
.
production design being pursued with JBEK Charleston)
2. Pursue feasibility evaluation and cost estim ate to increase the stack height for F E P and PFA vents by
at least 20ft. I will follow up with Al Gibson to find a economical and quick approach to get this work
started with JBEK Charleston.
Your feedback are appreciated.
