As to biodegradation, testing of this material indicates it to be rapidly and extensively biodegradable. The OECD screening test, a standard test for biodegradation potential, indicates a 96.2% DOC removal. As to aquatic toxicity this product does exhibit some short-term acute aquatic toxicity. In test runs by Vista, a 48-hour LC5Q of 9.2 mg/1 for daphnia magna was demonstrated. The toxicity data represented on the MSDS is based on data from testing a concentrated solution of the product. It is unlikely that a dilute product, the 1 to 5,000 dilution you mentioned would have resulted in significant eye or skin irritation.
