Re : Albert. W. Flinn
pear Mr . Chenault: '
Unfortunately I wag out of town when your letter arrived, and since Pr. Sehradin is in Houston and Dr. Kitzmiller is out of the Laboratory, the matter has not received attention.
This sounds like one of those rather typical affairs in which the man in question has not had adequate clinical study and in which, therefore, the easy way out has been to make the diagnosis of lead poisoning.
The obvious thing to do under the circumstances has been done, provided Pacific Employers* Insurance Company has obtained the services of a doctor who will make a thoroughgoing clinical study of the case. It is a little bit difficult for me to say hpw the matter should be handled further, although as you well know, we will he prepared to give any assistance that we can and if necessary arrangement can he made for Dr. Sehradin to see and examine the man. The important thing at this time is to see that suitable analyses are made as quickly as possible, and we shall be glad to do anything we can on this score. If we had any contact with the physician in the casv by telephone, wire or otherwise, we could give our best advice, provide sample con tainers, carry out the analyses, and report them promptly. The difficulty is that such analyses may be made improperly, and if they were to yield incorrectly high results, the situation would be badly eonfused.
Our notation says that Dr. Sehradin is in Houston and can be reached through Art Roberts, 3118 Wroxton Road, Houston 5, Texas. If you think it necessary in view of developments since your letter, you might undertake to telephone him, giving him the necessary Information. Otherwise if it is worth while, you might telephone.mem so that we shall not leave anything out which can be done from this end. If the matter has proceeded satis factorily , you can report to me at your convenience by corres pondence .
Cordially yours,
RAK ef
