Federal law bans the sale of certain asbestos-containing compounds effective June 16, 1978. This law does not cover ceiling textures, wall textures or texture paints. Our products effected by this law are 4001, 4051, 4101, 4151, 5512, 5515, 5525, 3535, 5589, 5^90 and 5591.
To the best of our knowledge the government has not set a deadline for the use of asbestos-containing compounds.
The attached shows the current inventory in your district by store of materials containing asbestos. These products must be sold prior to June 16, 1978.
These materials can probably be sold at regular price since most reports indicate that customers still prefer the asbestos-containing products. However, you nay discount as necessary to sell the products within the prescribed time.
