During service work, NIOSH (National Institute for Occupa
tional Safety and Health, a branch of HEW) has recommended
procedures to use for cleaning brake drums, brake backing
plates, brake and clutch assemblies in order that "airborne asbestos dust" exposure to technicians be minimized. Several
of these NIOSH procedures* * are as follows:
"Use an industrial-type vacuum cleaner equipped with a

The Rotunda Brake Washer removes asbestos fiber dust, grease and road dirt from brake as semblies. Rotunda Brake Cleaner solution circu lates through the brush to clean thoroughly--yet safely -- eliminating the dangerous practice of blowing asbestos-laden dust into the air. Wash ing with the Rotunda Brake Washer increases ef ficiency, too! Each mechanic works at the most comfortable height for him. He works faster with clean parts and avoids delays because parts are held at the axle, where they're easiest to find. And the low center of gravity, caster wheels and T-handle move the unit easily from wheel to wheel. The solution passes through a barrier
filter as it recirculates. An initial supply of solvent is included with each Brake Washer.
