Hall Painesville Subject: VINYL CHLORIDE EPIDEMIOLOGY STUDY As you will recall, CMA sponsored an industry-wide epide miology study of VC-PVC workers which was issued in 1978. This covered some 10M workers including those still active on 12/31/72. CMA is now planning to update this study to cover the period 12/31/72 through 12/31/81. In 1980 Uniroyal was one of 20 companies which committed to participate in this study. A contract has recently been signed by CMA with Environ mental Health Associates to begin the work. It will be in two phases. The first phase will be to update: changes in employment status for the period 12/72 to 12/81; job assign ments for those employed for the period; and current vital status. These data will then be put on computer tape and phase two will be to get death certificates and analyze the data. \ Your part for Painesville will be phase one. It is likely to Ijegin in the second quarter of 1982. Your costs will be to update the data. The CMA costs will be to the Division.
