Ken Mundt* AEI, Inc. * Denotes part-time attendance. 1.0 Update on the Vinyl Chloride Cohort Study with Applied Epidemiology, Inc. K. Mundt briefed the Committee on the status of the study update. The baseline ' analysis is expected to be conducted within the next 2 to 3 weeks. At the request of K. Mundt, W. Sherman will confer with C. Norman and CHEMSTAR counsel on the process for relaying scientific results to the Committee, consistent with CHEMSTAR Panel guidelines. W. Shennan will circulate for Committee review a copy of a Proposal for a Code of Good Epidemiological Practice (GEPs) co-authored by K. Mundt. 2.0 Update on the University of Louisville Brain Cancer Study W. Shennan reported that a revised copy of the University of Louisville study protocol was expected within the month from C. Tamburro. W. Sherman will circulate the revised protocol to Committee members. 3.0 Update on the Huntingdon Developmental Study The Committee discussed the draft results from the developmental study and the possibility of submitting an 8(e) report on a decrease in the body weight gain. Although each individual company must make independent decisions related to TSCA 8(e) submissions, C. Norman provided legal counsel to the group regarding TSCA 8(e) compliance. His counsel was based in part on advice given by EPA's TSCA 8(e) CMA 171361 VCHC Record of Conference Call - ]/S/98 Page 2 compliance office. C. Norman will summarize this information in a memo that W. Sherman will circulate to the Committee. W. Sherman will forward a copy of the Committee's comments on the draft study to Huntingdon, D. Penney and E. Beeler. W. Sherman reported that ATSDR had granted a request to extend the due date on the final developmental study through the end of January 1998. 4.0 Update on EPA's IRIS Pilot Project C. Norman provided the Committee with an update on EPA's IRIS Pilot Project for vinyl chloride. Data developed during the recent pilot project is currently being entered into the vinyl chloride IRIS database. 5.0 Schedule Next Meeting W. Sherman reminded the Committee that the next VCHC meeting is scheduled for February 10"'. W. Sherman will arrange a meeting location and then notify Committee members. Wendy K.
