Geatty, a director of the Company and manager of its metal department since 1942, vho will retire at the end of the year, was honored with a dinner last night given by his associates. Mr. Geatty completed forty-nine years of Company service last June. Forty attended the dinner at the Metropolitan Club, including Company directors. Mr. Geatty received congratulations from President Martino, and.was presented with a television set. Mr. Geatty started his Company career in 1899 with John T. Lewis & Bros. Co. in Baltimore. He became assistant manager of National Lead Company's Baltimore Branch in 1928 and manager of the Atlantic Branch metal division five years later. In 1938 Mr. Geatty became Company manager of metal sales, and in 1940 was elected a director and member of the Executive Committee. Kirk & Son Inc. and a director of Master Metals Inc. Mr. Geatty will continue as a director of National Lead following his retirement. VURTMANN REACHES FORTY-FIVE YEAR MARK A luncheon honoring B. H. Vurtmann, eredit manager of the Atlantic Branch metal division, was given on November 8 by his associates in ob servance of his forty-fifth anniversary of service with the Company. Mr. Vurtmann began his career on November 5> 1903 in the credit de partment of United Lead Company. In 1907 he was appointed credit man ager. When United Lead became a part of National Lead in 1928, Mr. Vurt mann was appointed to his present position. DE LORE DIES Casper J. De Lore, founder of the C. P, De Lore Company, which later became the De Lore Division of the Company, died recently in St. Louis. He was sixty-seven years old. He organized the De Lore Company in 1920 and when it became a part of National Lead, was appointed manager of the new division. Mr. De Lore held this position until 1946, when he retired. Simonsen has been appointed acting assistant superintendent of the ready-mixed- paint plant at Perth Amboy, effective October 15. Mr. Simonsen began his Rational Lead Company career as a millvright in the Britannia department of the Perth Amboy plant on March 22, 1937. He vas placed in charge of the lead-coating pilot plant on Feb ruary 22, 1946, and has been assistant to the superintendent of the paint plant since April 1947.
