Sent letters to TDWR and EPA to inform them of the effect of the Lube Acid Unit on our river discharge. (CJS) 3. Started review of literature I have accumulated on ways to reduce boiler ROx. If the recent ABA Unit modifications do not result in eliminating or significantly reducing the occasional plant haze problem then I recommend we start concentrating on boiler ROx. (CJS) 4. Sent report to TACB on performance evaluation of T-28 vent new incinera tor and scrubber. (CJS) 5. The TACB Regional Office made an annual compliance check - no major problems. Jackson recommending that the transite material which is to be used to construct fire walls for compressors in the Propanol Unit Project be labeled or tagged to indicate that the mate rial contain asbestos. (IOC) 7. Worked on the following projects: (IOC) A. Plant's liquid effluent survey. B. Annual air emissions inventory. C. Adipic Acid floor sweepings disposal. 8. Reviewed the BCP Industrial Hygiene Program with new employees during BOP training session. (CWW) 9. Published letter covering the hazards of CO and TPP for distribution to department superintendents. The information is to be used in refresher training to remind current employees and inform hew employees of the hazards of and how to protect against CO and TPP over-exposure. (Ci-JW) H. A meeting was held with Oxo-Butanol, Utilities, Maintenance, Laboratory, and Safety Supervision to discuss employee education on CO and TPP and additional actions and procedures needed to provide protection against CO and TPP exposure. (CWW,CJS) 12. The POX project team had planned to remove the continuous CO monitor (IR analyzer) from the syn gas unit for startup of the POX unit. However, these units will be operating simultaneously for some extended period. Hie need to keep a continuous CO monitor on the syn gas unit during startup of the POX unit was discussed with Charlie Jackson.
