The information to be distributed at the March 4th expanded staff meeting was reviewed. A copy is attached. Additional publicity for the program will include: Bulletin Board Announcement - Completed Information Published in Plant News - March 9 Notice on marquee signs at plant entrances - Week of March 14 Communicate plans to various safety committees - Month of March The April Safety Calendar was discussed. Any additional inputs should be given to Bob Hammann as soon as possible. The portable building survey was complete. Nine were found in violation of plant rules. LP5S has written letters to the owners notifying them of the non-compliance. Bicycle Safety. Files were researched and three separate procedures pertaining to bicycle safety were found. The procedures, resulting from studies made by various plant groups date back to a very detailed and thorough study made by the Office Safety Committee in 1979. The procedures will be reviewed by SHAC to determine if the work already done can be used. Drug and Alcohol Abuse Programs. An outside contact has been identified as a possible resource in helping us kick off a DAA Education Program. Rosemary Fritz will work with the TCSC in following up on this lead. A plant safety hazard previously identified was reported to have been corrected. The gasoline/diesel operated pumps and welding machines were being parked over night under the pipe rack in the rear of the instrument shop building. They are now being parked near the seawall on the shoulder of the road. Maintenance is studying the cooling tower fan problem previously reported. Two devices are currently being investigated.
