Dear Mr. V.mliartesveldt: I send you herewith an account of the expenditures made in our work for your company during the third quarter of 1950. This is sent to you primarily for information, and it does not involve any need for action on your part at this time. The work that is being done at the present time, as you will be able to see from the account, relates to tho investigations carried out on various groups of men. Iio animal experimentation is in progress, and obviously, none will be undertaken until you give the word. Since I returned from abroad in the late summer and early autumn, X have been so swamped with things demanding to be done, that I have not had occasion to look for anything else to do. Therefore, I have not undertaken to write up the experiments on the animals and to prepare a report. If there should be any reason for getting at this, it would be well if I were to know in advance, since at present, and, so far as I can see for seme time to come, I shall be working hard to keep my head above the water level.
