Asbestos Monitoring in Shop, 512 Construction
Gentlemen:
Attached are the results of the area and personal exposure monitoring done for asbestos in the Gasket Shop - laundry. Building 3 of the Construction Department, Institute Plant. This monitoring was done by the Institute Plant Industrial Hygiene group on October and 9, 1981.

The gasket cutting is done infrequently and it would generally last for a short period of time. The results of the survey indicate that the asbestos exposure in excess of the permissible limit of 2 fibers per centimeter cube of air did not occur.
The workers wore a respiratory protective device while working with the gasket material. It is emphasized that all workers continue to follow this practice while working in the area during gasket cut ting. Please notify the monitored workers of their exposure results.
