Grace vermiculite, which contains small amounts of tremolite asbestos. Both perlite and vermiculite from Filter Media Co. are acceptable alternatives. I have received correspondence (attached) from John K. Ferguson, Sales Manager, which states that Filter-Media's vermiculite is asbestos free. Price information from Filter-Media is tlso attached. Although perlite may offer a cost advantage, it has not been evaluated for desired packaging properties.
