I've talked with Perry on the phone about his memo, he mea n t no critic* sm o f `our D e p a r t m e n t 1s o p e ration indeed he thinks we have done an outstanding job in setting up meetings, etc., with the FDA. What he is really disheartened about is that his talc p r o b l e m is b a s ically m e d i c a l and h e .feels the need for George Wright to attend meetings where the medical aspects of the talc problem are being d e lib erated. I told Perry that George has been much in volved with the Reserve trial these last weeks but that we would do all possible to work with George's schedule so that he can attend upcoming meetings on talc. I assured Perry that we fully intended to meet the FDA filing d a t e of December 27 and that we w o uld c o unt on Lee Clemens whom he's just appointed Environmental Coordinator of his Division to work actively and closely with us in bringing the talc problem with FDA to a successful conclusion. As you know, with our small but talented staff, we do have to have direct coordinating help from the affected Divisions - this has been the secret of success with the Pipe Division, for example. P.
